I gradutated at The University of Melbourne, with a Masters of Engineering in Mechatronics. During my studies, I concurrently took Machine Learning subjects as well. I am interested in anything that invovles automation, most specifically general Machine Learning/Computer Vision and its applications in robotics, control or real life problems. I have experienced with, but not limited to, Computer Vision/Deep Learning model development, modelling websites, game-playing agents, server automation and research that involves ML/data engineering in general.
Throughout numerous experiences, my interests narrowed down into inventing out ideas that can foster good businesses and bring meaningful contributions to the society. That is also why I decided to go back to my home country Vietnam in 2024. I'm starting everything from scratch, and still have a lot to learn.
Besides sitting with the laptop, I also enjoy taking photographs on hiking/stargazing trips (and in the past, mountain biking), or fiddle around with my guitar (and few other instruments). Recently I started boxing as well.

The University of Melbourne | 2023
Was one of 3 tutors, and the youngest chosen for the university award in 2023. Awarded for endeavor in teaching and student support.
Australian Rover Challenge | 2023
Created a rover that performs the tasks of discovering and investigate the moon surface. Competed against other universities from Australia and Europe.
CSIRO | 2023
Voted as the best presentation across the 2023 Vacation Students cohort of CSIRO Clayton. Topic was about implementation of a markerless motion capture system for ergonomics using deep learning and computer vision.
Australian Rover Challenge | 2022
Created a rover that performs the tasks of discovering and investigate the moon surface. Competed against other Australian universities.
The University of Melbourne | 2022
Was awarded for top students who achieved excellent performance during study at The University of Melbourne
Forbes Under 30 Vietnam | 2022
Was featured for the COVID modelling website, which has created great impact in Vietnam's pandemic forecasting, despite the fact that 2 creators were only 21 years old at the time.
Vietnam Ministry of Health | 2020
Was honoured as one of the participants with the most contribution in the COVID-19 prevention operation by Vietnam Ministry of Health.
The University of Melbourne | 2020

Bringing the new technology concepts to merge with the old school methodologies of mechanic production in Vietnam.
Worked with Human Digital Team to develop digital twin through deep learning-based, real-time motion trackers. After 2023 summer, continued as a Capstone Project. For the first time, a joint project and connection between CSIRO and The University of Melbourne was established. 2024 summer, worked as RA to finish the project.
Taught content of Machine Learning (COMP30027), Introduction to Machine Learning (COMP90049), Computer Vision (COMP90086), and its basic implementations in Python libraries.
Managed the code infrastructure (full-stack work and algorithm development) of the product software for a German broadcasting company, and worked with international clients (mostly Europe). Informally, that was fixing bugs day by day.
Worked under Dr.Thu-Anh Nguyen, on modelling COVID-19 situation in Vietnam.
Worked under Professor Andrew Ooi, on the topic of Gravitational Current Simulation ("Entrainment and Mixing of Gravity Currents in a Stratified Ambient" - A. Ooi et al., 12th AHMTC, 2021).
Trained as a developer in the DevOps team and infrastructure department, and operated the automation of server production. Have also compiled a guide to introductory server learning for later interns.
